I also don't see any significant disadvantage with the cheaper model we chose. The 5G limitation (the same on both devices) was not important for us. There is a subtle difference in camera resolution: 65 versus 64 megapixels. But my wife takes photos with her Lumix camera anyway. So we chose the inexpensive one for her as an everyday mobile phone.
However, I don't find the fact that you have to re-enter the PIN of the SIM card after every automatic update so practical; my iPhone doesn't require that.
