Compared to the chrome-flashing portafilter machines with lots of bells and whistles like PID and Faema brew head, the ACM machines are nice and simple and functional. However, the equipment includes everything you need.

ACM boss Alfio Nebuloni found some support from Rocket Espresso Milano owner Friedrich Berenbusch. During regular card game evenings, the two discussed and agreed on a cooperation and know-how transfer regarding smaller home machines. The Pratika models, for example, incorporate the know-how of the high-end machine manufacturer Rocket. It doesn't say so on the outside, but that's how it is. Details of the old Cellini and Giotto models from Rocket can therefore be found in the ACM models.

The company was only founded in 1984 in San Vittore Olona and can therefore be described as young. By comparison, brands like Bezzera have been around since 1901, but that doesn't mean that the eight employees around ACM boss Nebuloni haven't built up enough know-how to be able to have their say in the espresso machine scene. Milan is a real stronghold for espresso machine manufacturers for the semi-professional sector. Often, former employees of the large manufactories set up new companies not far from their old ones. And so everyone in this area cross-fertilizes each other and trends are quickly copied, or a joint parts purchase is organized more favorably with friendly companies.
