RØDE was founded in 1990 by Peter Freedman and is based in the heart of Australia, Sydney. Due to growing demand for affordable, high quality microphones, the Australian and his team developed the RØDE NT2, which paved the way to an international company. In 2017 RØDE celebrated its 50th anniversary.

RØDE produces microphones in all shapes and sizes, as well as the matching accessories such as stands, microphone spiders, windscreens, audio cables and adapters. RØDE is aimed at both professional users and amateur musicians, and now also at streaming customers.
