Flip-flop sales are currently thriving – and quite rightly so. Here are nine pretty styles for hot days and cool looks.

Unlike many current shoe trends, flip–flops aren’t dividing opinion – just toes. They may not have always been considered the most fashionable choice, but their iconic clapping sound has become an integral part of the summer soundscape – just like chirping crickets and clinking ice cubes.

Luxury fashion houses love the toe separator

In recent years, these summer classics have increasingly shed their baggy image and are currently delighting fashionistas and fans alike. For some time now, they’ve been paired with a suit or cocktail dress, not just with swimwear. The flip-flops of the modern age know no bounds. They clatter confidently across sunbathing lawns, shopping streets and catwalks – be it at Prada, Yohji Yamamoto, Versace, Issey Miyake, Chanel ... in fact, it would be easier to list the brands refraining from selling flip-flops. Menswear collections for spring/summer 2026 were showcased recently and revealed that flip-flops are here to stay next year.

Flip-flops in all shapes and colours

These days, there are a wide variety of flip-flops. Of course the standard rubber version like Havaianas always works, whether you go for a classic black or bold poison green with glitter. On that note, may I point out that the Havaianas with a square toe section look particularly chic (see below). Those who want to appear a little taller can also opt for stylish platform models. What’s currently very popular are the flip-flops with a wedge heel. Filigree leather models are probably the most elegant flip-flop choice. Still, you can’t really go wrong because you’ll be on trend with whichever pair you ultimately go for.
