Minecraft is already celebrating its tenth anniversary. In addition to countless books and LEGO sets, there is now also an analogue board game version of the best-selling video game of all time.

After selling over 176 million copies, the video game manufacturer is now venturing into the world of analogue board games. Together with Ravensburger, "Minecraft: Builders & Biomes" will be released this month.

We were fascinated by the idea of turning the Minecraft video game into a haptic strategy game in which the players sit directly opposite each other and build cleverly and with foresight in order to win
Florian Baldenhofer, Produktmanager Ravensburger

The tabletop game was unveiled at this year's MineCon. The Minecraft event of the year, where all new features and expansions are announced. There are currently still few insights into the board game. The trailer is also more inspirational than informative.

How does the game principle work?

In "Minecraft: Builders & Biomes", two to four players find themselves in an unknown part of the overworld. During the game, you can collect various resources, construct buildings and fight monsters. The game ends as soon as all 64 available resource blocks have been used up. According to Ravensburger, this takes between 30 and 60 minutes. Points are awarded for the size of your territory, the buildings constructed and the number of monsters defeated.

The game goes on sale on 12 October 2019, but the impatient among you can pre-order it today. I'll definitely be playing it. Just out of curiosity to see if they've made the leap from the digital to the analogue world.

You can explore more digital stuff from the analogue world in my author profile.
