Samsung’s AI vacuum cleaner: full features, full performance – but only half-smart

The new Bespoke AI Jet Ultra is Samsung’s best, but also most expensive vacuum cleaner. The equipment’s exceptional, but you shouldn’t expect too much from the advertised artificial intelligence.
Nobody can reinvent the vacuum cleaner today. Nevertheless, manufacturers are continuing to develop the idea in order to set their models apart from the competition. With the new Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, Samsung’s focusing on two areas: artificial intelligence and comprehensive features.
Brushes, clean station – and even a spare battery
Samsung packs the box full of attachments. There are three different brushes: one for all floors with an automatic vacuum setting, one for fine dust on hard floors and one for pet hair. Plus, there’s a bendable pipe section to make it easier to vacuum on or under furniture, as well as a second battery with a separate charger. I’m impressed by the robust plug-in system because it’s not only stable but also runs smoothly.

The best feature of all? The clean station. As soon as you place the Bespoke Jet on it, the dirt’s vacuumed into a bag and the appliance charged. You don’t have to empty the dirt container into the bin after every clean, just replace the dust bag every few weeks. You’ll find three supplied with the vacuum.

The closed system with HEPA filtration is useful for allergy sufferers. And it also saves everyone else from having to empty the dirt container into the bin liner, which is always covered in dust. In summary, the suction station’s very practical, but also a luxury that you pay extra for.
More power, less effect
Samsung’s installed a new suction motor that’s 50 grammes lighter and yet more powerful than its predecessor, the «Bespoke AI Jet». The manufacturer claims this motor has 400 watts compared to the 280 watts in the 2024 model, which I also tested.
Yet, in everyday life, I don’t notice any difference between the older Bespoke AI Jet and the new Bespoke AI Jet Ultra. This is because I often use the medium suction level or automatic mode. This makes it easy to clean the floor – as was the case in the test a year ago.
I’ve only encountered one situation in which I felt the full power, namely when vacuuming the floor mats and fabric seats in the car. The new Samsung’s much more efficient at sucking out particles from the dense mesh.

Samsung’s smart solution for the battery
The main reason why I rarely run the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra at full speed in everyday life is the battery life – it shortens when you use stronger suction power. The manufacturer states that the vacuum will run for a maximum of 100 minutes. However, this only applies on the lowest suction level and without a motorised brush – which isn’t a very realistic scenario.
When I used it in everyday situations with a motorised brush, these were the values I recorded: at the «Min.» level the battery lasts 73 minutes, «Mid.» 50 minutes, «Max.» 23 minutes and «JET» as the strongest level only 15 minutes.
This discrepancy isn’t an isolated case, I’ve seen it with all manufacturers. Nevertheless, there are inexpensive vacuum cleaners that perform just as well. With the Dreame R20, for example, I measured a running time of 60 minutes on the lowest setting – according to the manufacturer, it should run for 90 minutes.

Samsung’s well aware of this problem – and therefore includes a second, slightly smaller battery with the Bespoke Jet. It delivers around 60 per cent of the power of the larger battery. Thanks to the second battery, I can easily clean five or six rooms in one go. It’s also 200 grammes lighter, which is ideal if you only need to vacuum something for a short time.
More intelligence, but only with an app
The artificial intelligence feature in the vacuum is the automatic suction system. Sensors detect the condition of the floor, the system calculates the ideal suction power and sets how fast the brush should rotate. But this only works with one of the three floor nozzles supplied.
According to the manufacturer, AI mode saves up to 14 per cent of the battery and I should be able to manoeuvre up to six per cent more easily because the rotating brush doesn’t push too hard. I don’t really notice a difference in the latter, though. The power savings, on the other hand, are quite realistic. I measured a running time of 65 minutes in «AI» mode on a tiled floor. This is slightly longer than if I vacuum with the «Mid.» setting, which delivers a runtime of 50 minutes. However, if I use «Min.» mode, the battery lasts for 73 minutes – in other words, in «AI» mode I lose 8 minutes.
What I noticed was, when I switch the vacuum cleaner from carpet to parquet or from tiled floor to wood, the suction power’s audibly regulated after a second. Detection is fast and precise.
Samsung has built in two levels of AI. In AI Cleaning Mode 1.0, which is also available in the predecessor model, the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra distinguishes between hard floor, carpet, mats and lifting the vacuum cleaner. The new AI Cleaning Mode 2.0 also recognises the type of carpet.

However, the 2.0 version’s only available if the base station is paired with your Wi-Fi and the Samsung app. The vacuum cleaner must also be within Bluetooth distance of the Clean Station. I can only find out whether this is the case when I open the app. Or I have to pay attention to how the vacuum cleaner reacts to the different floor coverings.
This is tedious on every level. Plus, I have to create a Samsung account to use the app. With that in mind, I think the effort outweighs the benefits.
The price is questionable
The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra has proven to be an excellent vacuum cleaner that leaves nothing to be desired. The luxurious product with all its bells and whistles comes with a hefty price tag. This new model costs over 1200 francs or euros, making it one of the most expensive vacuum cleaners in our product range. After all, it’s just as expensive as its predecessor, which is no longer available.
Is it worth the price? I don’t think so. Few features are new and there are cheaper alternatives – even from Samsung too. You can get a Bespoke Jet with clean station and lots of attachments for half the price.
With these options, you have to do without artificial intelligence and the suction power’s not as strong. In addition, not all of them have two batteries included. But in everyday life, you’ll also be able to vacuum easily with the cheaper models and see above-average results thanks to the clean station.
Then there are models with AI, which are slightly cheaper and have somewhat simpler equipment.
In a nutshell
Great results, but too expensive
The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra is one of the best cordless vacuum cleaners I’ve ever tested. And one of the most expensive. The problem is, Samsung’s top model offers hardly any new features to justify a price of over 1,200 francs. I might feel differently if it decreases with time. Until then, there are cheaper alternatives – even in Samsung’s range.
Don’t have a budget? Then you can’t go wrong with the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra. It automatically adjusts the suction power to the surface, offers a practical cleaning base, a second battery and lots of extras. However, there’s room for improvement in some areas, such as the app connection.
Pro

- Many attachments including second battery
- Strong suction power
- Practical clean station
Contra
- Expensive
- AI features only work in connection with the app
- Unrealistic battery life promises
- Few innovations compared to the predecessor
