An extraordinary and especially beautiful way to measure time: Every full hour the original song of one of 12 native songbirds - from blackbird to nightingale to oriole - is heard. At dusk, the birds go to sleep in "their nest": thanks to a built-in light sensor, the voices switch off automatically when it gets dark. The colourful and detailed illustrations on the dial are by renowned bird illustrators: Kilian Mullarney (Ireland) and Dan Zetterström (Sweden).
