The 3-pole contactors UA16-30-10-RA for capacitor switching can be used in systems where the peak current far exceeds 100 times the rated effective current. The contactors are supplied complete with their damping resistors and must be used without additional inductances. Their electrical lifespan is 250,000 switching cycles at Ue < 500 V and 100,000 switching cycles at 500 V = Ue = 690 V. The UA..RA contactors are equipped with a special front block that ensures the serial insertion of three damping resistors into the circuit to limit the current peak when energizing the capacitor bank. Their connection also ensures the precharging of the capacitors to limit the second current peak when switching on the main poles. By using resistors, the highest current peak of the capacitor during switching can be dampened regardless of its magnitude. The 3-pole contactors of the UA...RA series are designed in a block construction.
