Product details
The ASUS ROG Strix XG49VQ is a 32:9 super ultra-wide HDR gaming monitor with a 49-inch (124.46 cm) display. With a dual HD resolution of 3840 x 1080 pixels at 144 Hertz, this display delivers a highly
immersive gaming experience that is enhanced by DisplayHDR 400, 90 percent coverage of the DCI P3 color space and Amd FreeSync 2 HDR technology with no streaks or tearing and brilliant colors.
With a 1800 mm radius of curvature, the VA panel offers excellent 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, a 4 millisecond refresh rate and a 144 hertz refresh rate at full resolution. Combined with Amd graphics cards, Amd FreeSync 2 HDR technology can effectively reduce tearing. In this way, the screen provides great colors and a streak-free gaming experience.
A special highlight of the XG49VQ is its excellent color reproduction. With 16.7 million colors and a true 8-bit color depth per channel, the ASUS monitor covers 90 percent of the DCI P3 color space. With a maximum brightness of 450 cd/m², the display easily achieves DisplayHDR 400 certification. You can choose from different HDR modes to optimally adjust the screen to the current scenario. The integrated GamePlus functions also allow the insertion of crosshairs, timers or FPS counters as an overlay.
Despite the enormous size of this monitor, you don't have to compromise on ergonomics. The display can be tilted 5 degrees forward and 20 degrees backward. A swivel in both directions is possible up to 16 degrees and a height adjustment of 120 mm allows a quick adjustment to the own seat height. The 100 x 100 mm VESA device allows mounting on dedicated monitor mounts. On the display side, the flicker-free technology and blue light filters ensure that the eyes are spared even during prolonged use.
The ASUS ROG Strix XG49VQ offers a wide range of connection options. Two HDMI 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort 1.2 connector serve as signal inputs. The USB 3.0 Type B port is used to connect the USB hub integrated into the screen to the computer. There are two USB 3.0 ports on the device. For sound output, the ASUS ROG Strix XG49VQ has two integrated loudspeakers with a power of 5 watts each. The audio signal can also be looped through to external speakers or headphones via the 3.5 mm jack socket.
FreeSync 2 is an extension of Amd's well-known FreeSync technology. Both FreeSync and FreeSync 2 minimize input delays and unsightly tearing effects. FreeSync 2 with intelligent HDR also allows you to use the dynamic refresh rate for HDR content. This eliminates the HDR increased input lag (caused by additional tone mapping of the monitor), which is only possible with Freesync 2 HDR or G-Sync Ultimate. If you start a game with HDR and FreeSync 2 support, the driver and monitor automatically switch to HDR mode.
