The VE883AR is an optical True 4K HDMI receiver that transmits HDMI, audio, USB 2.0, IR, RS-232, and Gigabit Ethernet signals losslessly over a single duplex fiber optic cable up to 300 meters or 10 kilometers at 4096 x 2160 / 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz (4:4:4). The fiber optic cables are electrically isolated, making them immune to RFI and EMI, thus avoiding complex cabling setups. With ATEN's exclusive FarSmooth technology, the VE883AR prevents delays and freezing by adjusting output rates to match input rates, ensuring that the display remains stable, uniform, and identical to the source, particularly in long-distance extension applications where uninterrupted video streams are essential.

The VE883AR features interfaces such as HDMI output, analog audio output, USB 2.0, IR, RS-232, and Gigabit Ethernet. Connectivity with USB peripherals is enhanced by the two USB Type-A ports on the VE883AR. For point-to-point extensions, pluggable SFP+ modules are included, serving as the optical connection. Additionally, the VE883AR is compatible with ATEN's VM8584 Optical Output Board, which can be installed in ATEN's modular matrix switches to expand application possibilities. It is suitable for installations where True 4K video transmission over long distances and electrical isolation are important, such as in control rooms, factories, and hospitals.
