The LAN interface is designed as a Gigabit two-port switch, so that the existing LAN cabling of the workstation PC can also be used and additional cabling is not required. Power is supplied either via the included plug-in power supply or PoE.

The elmeg IP640 is integrated into the bintec elmeg telephone system and, unlike many standard SIP telephones, offers system features. The configuration of the most important parameters, the assignment of the phone number and the assignment of the flexible function keys is carried out centrally via the bintec elmeg system, and access to the central phone book is also configured automatically. The ergonomic navigation keys simplify operation considerably. The 4.3-inch touch display facilitates navigation and also enables dynamic display of the function key assignment. The clear menu structure is displayed and operated by four softkeys in the lower part of the display.

Programmable function keys provide quick access to frequently used phone numbers or functions such as busy lamp field and call forwarding.There are a total of 38 function keys available, six on the start page and 16 each on the two extended pages which are accessed by simply swiping across the display. The current assignment is shown in the idle display on the start pages.

High-quality and hardware-integrated audio functions enable professional communication with the telephone handset, headset or as a hands-free audio conference system. Each of these units has its own volume control for optimal adaptation to the user's requirements.

The USB interface allows the elmeg IP640 to connect optional accessories such as Bluetooth receivers for headsets. There is also the option of connecting a wired or cordless headset with DHSG/EHS support. The full HD audio quality of the elmeg IP640 predestines the phone for intensive daily use without compromise. A convenient wall mount bracket allows easy installation for a wide range of requirements.
