The R1 - 1000 features 28 series-connected 1 W resistors, each of which can be activated individually using slide switches. The stepped resistance values in 1, 2, 3, and 4 stages allow for a continuous adjustment of resistance values across 7 decades (1 Ω to 11.11111 MΩ). For example, setting 156 kΩ is achieved by selecting the following switches: 100 kΩ, 40 kΩ + 10 kΩ, 4 kΩ + 2 kΩ. Connections are made via 4 mm safety sockets.
