The SecuLoad - N test adapter is used to measure the no-load voltage of welding machines according to EN 60974. In conjunction with a SECUTEST or a multimeter, it allows for the testing of welding machines in compliance with the EN 60974 standard. By using a bridge rectifier, no polarity reversal of the welding voltage is required, which reduces the testing time for the no-load voltage by 50%.

The peak rectifier of the SecuLoad - N utilizes the recommended rectifier diode 1N4007 as per the standard. This diode is a mains rectifier diode and is inherently suitable only for voltage sources with low pulse frequencies in the range of mains frequency or for voltage sources with conventional transformers.

However, there are welding machines on the market that use pulsed voltage sources with significantly higher pulse frequencies. These can generate switching impulses with high voltages that the peak rectifier of the SecuLoad - N may not capture in their entirety. The voltage output from the SecuLoad - N can be significantly lower than the peak values in the output voltage of the welding machine. This must be taken into account when evaluating the measurement results.
