This board converts a USB connection into a serial 5-volt TX and RX. It allows for a direct connection to the Arduino Mini, Arduino Ethernet, or other microcontrollers so they can communicate with the computer. One of the great features of this board is a jumper on the back that allows you to configure it to 3.3 V or 5 V (both output power and I/O levels). By default, this board is supplied with 5 V. However, you can cut the default trace and add a solder bridge if you need to switch to 3.3 V.
