The Kinman Big Nine-0 is an impressive single coil pickup. At first glance, it may look like a standard Strat pickup with Alnico magnets, but the name suggests it possesses the power and soul of a P-90. It pairs perfectly with a humbucker, as it can easily keep up in terms of output and tonal character, all without any hum. The Big Nine-0 is highly developed magnetically and needs to be installed close to the strings to unleash its full potential. It boasts an amazing 9.5 kOhm and delivers fantastically thick, singing highs. In the neck position, it is noticeably more defined than a P-90. The entire set produces the typical twang in positions 2 and 4, but with a much fatter sound than usual. The Big Nine-0 is about 3 mm taller than conventional single coils at 25 mm, so it's advisable to measure the guitar's routing before purchasing.
