The speed and belt monitoring device is used to monitor rotational movement (under-speed) on motor or belt-driven shafts. Inductive proximity switches are used to detect the speed. The pulse generation at the sensor occurs contactless through running switch cams, gears, segment discs, metallic signal flags, or similar.

When the operating voltage is applied, the relay pulls in. The monitoring function is activated at terminals E1 and E2 via the power contactor of the drive after the start-up bypass period has elapsed. If the drive falls below the cut-off speed, the relay drops out. The fault message of the speed and belt monitoring device can be reset by resetting or turning off the operating voltage.
