The well-known and proven amplifier system AKB-160 is now equipped with a 2-channel Dante module. With this setup, it can be comfortably used as a Dante instreamer, receiving digital stereo or two mono signals via the RJ45 connections. These signals are converted into an analog audio signal, amplified, and outputted. This allows for the integration of a digital Dante network into an existing analog speaker system.
The amplifier is specifically designed for use in public address systems. It can deliver 120 W RMS to 100 V and 70 V speakers or to a speaker group with a total impedance of 4 Ω. The mixable input channels can accommodate microphones (channels 1 – 3) or line-level devices (channels 1 – 3 and AUX). The fifth input of the amplifier is an Ethernet interface for connecting to a Dante audio network, from which audio signals can be received over one or two Dante channels. Input channel 1 of the amplifier is equipped with a talkover function that reduces the volume of the other channels by 40 dB during an announcement.
