Product details
Do you need a conveniently portable USB MIDI controller with a keyboard that is still musically playable? Do you want to control several sound modules but don't really have space for a large keyboard? Do you have analogue equipment, perhaps even a modular system that you want to control with CV/Gate? Would you like a step sequencer with polyphonic features that can control all your favorite equipment, whether modern or classic? If only there was a single device that combined all these functions...
It's the touch...
KeyStep can do all that and more. We started with the development of our own "Slim Key" keyboard, which offers the best compromise between the space savings of mini keys and the musicality of a full-size keyboard. The compact size, sensitive touch dynamics, and aftertouch capability make KeyStep ultra-portable without sacrificing playability.
Next, we designed a new polyphonic step sequencer with 8 memory locations. Gate times and swing parameters can be modulated instantly, keeping your sequence fresh and varied. Your patterns can be recorded, overdubbed, and transposed in real time, while still allowing you to continue playing on the keyboard. There is also a flexible arpeggiator and chord play mode that guarantees many hours of playing fun time and time again.
...and the possibilities
These features alone make KeyStep the best portable keyboard controller on the market. But we have thought one level further and given KeyStep a variety of connection options: USB-MIDI, standard 5-pin MIDI input and output sockets, clock sync and DIN sync, CV/gate outputs, and a separate, freely assignable CV output that can be controlled via the modulation wheel, velocity, or aftertouch. KeyStep is therefore much more than "just" an excellent small controller: KeyStep is the perfect performance controller in a compact form.
KeyStep Black Edition is supplied with 3 CV cables for connection to your external synths and devices.
