The main difference is the triggering of a keystroke: Cherry-MX When pressed, a metal part held in flex is released, which makes contact until the key is back up and pushes the metal part back. https://www.cherrymx.de/en/cherry-mx/mx-original/mx-speed-silver.html Corsair OPX When pressed, a pin interrupts a light barrier and thus triggers the keystroke until the pin is out of the light barrier again: https://cwsmgmt.corsair.com/landing/keyswitches/video/Corsair-Opx-Switch.m4v Both are pushed upwards by a spring. The resistance is the same for both (45g). The Cherry switches release 0.2(!) mm later and can be pressed 0.2 mm further. Therefore, they may be (imperceptibly) slower, but (imperceptibly) more forgiving if a key is touched unintentionally. These differences are probably within tolerances. Both are extremely fast compared to other keyboards. MX switches have worked reliably for years, and are dirt and dust resistant. Optical switches are relatively new and not very common, and I can imagine that dirt or dust once it has reached the bottom of the switch will permanently trigger it and make it unusable, whereas the contact in the MX switch virtually cleans itself. In addition, the light barrier requires other electronic parts that are probably more sensitive than the 2 metal parts in the MX switch. I would buy the MX switches, but not this keyboard again, because: too expensive terrible ping noise If you want optical switches, I would have a look here: https://steelseries.com/gaming-keyboards/apex-pro These switches are not triggered when a horizontal barrier is broken, but constantly measure the position of the key from below. This has the advantage that the trigger point can be variably adjusted, which in my opinion offers a clear advantage over the mechanical switch. However, you will probably adjust it a few times and then leave it where it was comfortable.
Unfortunately, these cannot be easily removed or reinserted without soldering. At best, the following keyboards would be interesting as an alternative: Glorious PC Gaming Race GMMK (US, cable) Glorious PC Gaming Race GMMK (cable)
We currently have no supplier who can supply us with the CH version. We hope to find an alternative soon.
Hello, I use it every day, you can easily swap the keys (Z/Y and A/Q) so that you're more comfortable, you put the keyboard on your computer in FR(CH) and you don't see any difference.
This item is on sale and no longer available from the supplier. We regret that we will therefore no longer receive a delivery of this item.
Unfortunately, the CH version is EOL (End of Life). We are therefore no longer able to offer it. We ask for your understanding.
I myself do not use the palm rest from the Coirsair and have replaced it with the Kingston HyperX Wrist Rest. I can only recommend it. If you want to have my palm rest, then you can get in touch with me.
In this case, please contact our customer service directly so that this can be checked and you can be helped accordingly. https://helpcenter.galaxus.ch/hc/de/requests/new
Hi, Unfortunately, this keyboard has no IP32 as in the older Corsair K68. The alternative would be the SteelSeries Apex 3 https://www.galaxus.ch/search?q=SteelSeries%20Apex%203 Kind regards
According to Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/ji74eh/can_i_swap_the_key_switches_on_the_new_corsair/): It works, but it's very difficult, so it's certainly not hot-swap. If you want other switches, build a custom keyboard or buy another one, this one is not worth it.

The optical ones react faster and are more durable. The stroke is slightly shorter (10mm stat 12mm). Recommended for gamers. However, it is also a matter of getting used to it. Some people say they have trouble with the optical because the click sounds and feels different.
No, I suspect the opx is more expensive because it is optically mechanical.
The OPX switches are faster and therefore only offer advantages over the MX Speed switches. In short: As an owner, I recommend the OPX switches from Corsair.
Yes, I can give you that. I have the Corsair OPX switch, which is even faster than the standard MX Speed. See https://www.computerbase.de/2020-10/corsair-k100-rgb/ My recommendation for gaming: OPX Switch from Corsair.
Yes, they exist, but not here in the Digitec.ch shop.
It's a matter of taste. I had some problems with it at the beginning because I'm not used to it. It really only takes a gentle press to trigger the button. So especially when I wanted to place the thumb on the space button while playing...
