Not mandatory. It is not necessary for flying. However, if you want to record photos and videos, you will need a micro SSD. Make sure that the card is fast enough to save videos in high resolution.

Helpful answer
Yes, if the drone runs out of battery, it will automatically fly back to the starting point. This is the low battery return function (Low Battery RTH), which is initiated when the battery level is only sufficient for a safe return. You will receive a warning message in the DJI Fly app, and after 10 seconds the return will start if you do nothing. The function can be cancelled via the app or remote control, but then the battery may no longer be sufficient.

The drone's horizontal top speed is 16 m/s (approximately 57.6 km/h). This value corresponds to the maximum horizontal speed, confirmed by several official sources and DJI dealers. Climb (5 m/s) and descent (3.5 m/s) speeds are distinct.

No, this device does not record sound directly with the images. The videos are captured without audio integrated by the drone's camera, as indicated in the tutorials, which recommend adding sound via a separate recording on a smartphone or external microphone.

Can you buy an additional battery

The batteries are listed directly under the drone's accessories on sale. Direct link: DJI Intelligent Flight (drone battery, DJI Mini 2, DJI Mini SE) My tip is to buy a good power bank for this money. You already have 3 batteries in this combo. So if one is empty, you could use the flight time of the next battery to recharge it. And honestly, even if it only lasts 20 minutes per battery because you don't use up the battery to 0%, you still have 1.5 - 2 hours of battery life with recharging. And the power bank costs about the same as a battery, but can also be used for other things. I was able to recharge very well the other day and after a short break I was ready to go again with 3 full batteries. At some point you will also have to recharge the remote control and mobile anyway. The most important point about the drone itself: Make sure that you only download the original DJI app to your mobile. Even if you don't get it from the app store and have to temporarily deactivate security on your mobile. Most apps that are supposedly for DJI drones in the Google App Store only have the purpose of stealing from the uninformed (and are not from DJI).

Which ssd card fits in there

avatar
Galaxus

Helpful answer
The drone uses a microSD card as a storage medium. A microSDXC card with UHS-I interface is recommended for the DJI Mini 4K Fly More Combo. A card with a capacity of up to 128 GB and high read and write speeds (e.g. 180 MB/s read, 160 MB/s write) is suitable and is also offered in bundles. An SSD card in the classic sense (e.g. SATA or NVMe SSD) is not used, as the drone only supports microSD cards.

The DJI Mini 4K is not directly compatible with FPV goggles. It does not offer specific support for FPV devices, unlike other models such as the DJI Mini 4 Pro, which is compatible with FPV devices such as the DJI Goggles 2.

Yes, you can film and record videos without an SD card with this drone, but this is limited to low-quality photos or 720p videos, which will be stored directly on your mobile device. To use all the creative functions and store high-quality videos, you'll need a microSD card.

The drone can be flown without a mobile phone as it is equipped with a remote control. This remote control makes it possible to control the drone and select different flight modes without the need for a smartphone. However, a smartphone can be useful to use additional functions such as camera settings and live video transmission.

Is this drone also compatible with Litchi?

avatar
Galaxus

Helpful answer
The DJI Mini 4K drone is currently not compatible with the Litchi app. The Litchi app supports certain DJI models such as the Mini 2, but there is no official confirmation of support for the Mini 4K. Compatibility is dependent on the availability of a mobile SDK (MSDK) to be provided by DJI.

Gimbal calibration: In the DJI Fly app: go to "Settings" > "Controls" > "Gimbal Calibration" and perform the calibration. Manual inspection: Switch off the drone and check the gimbal for mechanical blockages. Move it carefully to ensure that it can move freely. Tilting the gimbal: If the gimbal remains tilted upwards, this could indicate a problem with the ribbon cable or the gimbal motor.
