The DJI RC 2 remote controller is not compatible with the DJI Mavic Air 2. The Mavic Air 2 uses different controller models, and the RC 2 is designed for newer drones such as DJI Air 3, Air 3s, Neo and Mini 4 Pro. Therefore, you cannot use the DJI RC 2 with the Mavic Air 2.
