I am basically looking for a fitness tracker that works without having the smartphone with me (timer / stopwatch mandatory, luxury would be to be able to use Spotify in offline mode with headphones). Would this be an appropriate device? If not, does anyone have a recommendation?

Tracking activities without a smartphone works with this watch. The watch has a timer and stopwatch. Spotify in offline mode does not work with this watch. I have experience with the Fitbit Charge 4 as well as the Garmin Fenix 6. The Garmin Fenix 6 has Spotify offline mode playback via Bluetooth headphones. The Fenix is also in a much higher league than the Fitibit in terms of recording, analysis and training advice. I can highly recommend the Garmin Fenix!
