To disable the HP+ service on this printer, you can carefully go through the options during setup and decline to enable HP+. The printer does not need to be permanently online to work, but an internet connection is required to use HP+. If you do not want to enable HP+, you can use the printer without this function, but only with Original HP ink cartridges, as the printer uses dynamic security measures to block cartridges without an HP chip.

You can, but the quality is certainly better with a photo printer. We only use this printer for office and scanning. Photos are better with various Pixma printers from Canon, for example. It's just a question of requirements. We printed on the following paper: HP Advanced glossy photo paper, 250 g/m2.

What exactly do you mean by network folder? I simply installed the printer with the HPSmart app on the Mac. Then you just have to install HPSmart on the other Macs (if you have more than one) and they can all access the printer via the WLAN.

Yes, you can place a stack of documents to be scanned on top. For me, however, it often feeds the paper a little unevenly. If I want a really good scan, I let the documents through one by one. Perhaps this could be set better or I'm doing something wrong.
