Yes, theoretically you can use it as a microphone only.
It is designed as a device that you place in the middle of the table in a conference room and you have a team meeting and you can hear everyone well.
If you only need it for recordings, there are certainly cheaper alternatives.

I haven't tried it directly with a Raspy, but on my Linux devices the part is recognised without any problems, both via USB and Bluetooth. I would therefore assume that this will also be the case on a Raspberry Pi
The Jabra has USB and Bluetooth. We used it daily with MS Teams and the price performance is great.

You can connect both devices to the laptop via Bluetooth and then switch between both devices in the audio settings. However, a call would be set on hold and you might also have to change the settings in the software (Teams, Skype). Headset on spider does not work, at least not that I know of.

Jabra is just a microphone and speaker in one device. The memory format depends on your computer and software.

1. the 510+ comes with the USB Bluetooth adapter, the 510 does not.
2. the only difference between UC and MS is the *certification* for call control:
MS = Certified for MS applications (i.e. possibly built-in Teams/Skype buttons, device is also preferenced by the programmes).
UC = Unified Communication = standardised control (also works with Teams/Skype)
I was also confused, but you are probably safe with the UC variant, unless only MS apps are used.

It works fine with Android. I can't say whether it works on an iPad.
Yes, MS Teams works perfectly. You do not need a Bluetooth adapter, you can also connect the device via the USB stick.

Both sides can speak and hear at the same time. We had one problem with an echo, but this was obviously due to the other side, because on all other occasions our Jabra worked perfectly.

We use both the Jabra Speak 510+ MS and the Jabra Speak 810 MS with teams and both work well.
The 510 speaker is designed for laptops and mobile phones and is compact in shape, even to take along. You can connect it via USB or Bluetooth - if the phone has a USB port or Bluetooth, it might be possible. I would try it or ask Jabra - Cisco will want to sell you their own spider.
