The TouchID of Mac cannot be replaced with this security key. The VeriMark Guard is used to log in to Google, for example. You can find more information here: https://www.kensington.com/software/verimark-setup/verimark-guard-setup-guide/

Hmm, well, the newer MBPs already have a fingerprint scanner included (top right). I can't imagine that this part represents an additional comfort - rather the opposite (software has to be installed, is USB, on the notebook...).
