Logi Bolt is the receiver for the Logitech MX Keys series (keyboards and mice). The devices (keyboards and mice) also work with Bluetooth. However, the function with Logi Bolt is more stable and far-reaching, e.g. when accessing protected mode or the BIOS.

Hello, There aren't two versions of Bolt, there's also the Unifying standard which isn't encrypted. Encryption is mainly used to avoid conflicts between devices of the same standard and to reduce latency, so if your MX Keys is Bolt it meets the standard.

The Logi Bolt is suitable for use with Windows PCs and Macs. It is plugged in there as a "receiver". The function is limited to the corresponding keyboards and mice from Logitech. However, these Logitech devices also work conventionally via Bluetooth, but without the security and connection stability that Logi Bolt offers.
