If you absolutely need a new game "now" (e.g. on a rainy Sunday morning), then you are quite prepared to pay more for the download. Nintendo knows that and makes money with it. But you're absolutely right: a game on a card could even be resold later. So you have to stay calm on that Sunday morning and you've already saved money. But believe me, it's not that easy 😉
