That doesn't sound like a heatset problem but a Discord problem. It works perfectly for me. Have a look under voice and video chat there is the option attenuation, is it perhaps at 100%? Just turn it down or completely off with 0%

I want to buy these headphones, but I’ve found many reviews saying that the plastic around the headband, which holds the ear cups, cracks and falls apart. I’ve also seen some reviews mentioning interference noises and hissing sounds in the headphones.
I can’t decide whether to buy the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless or the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro (2023). The HyperX headphones don’t seem to have these issues, but they have a worse microphone. I’m also unsure which one has better sound quality.

A few points:
- I'm using it for video conferencing extensively in business setting, overall I'm happy with it
- it's on the heavier side, good quality build with stronger "passive" external noise isolation
- works fine both with Windows and Linux with no extra software. There is a nasty issue where the volume knob on the left "cup" randomly stops controlling the OS sound volume level and the headset gets stuck on maximum volume after each power on unless manually adjusted. Deleting device in Device Manager in Windows and re-inserting the USB dongle fixes the problem for both Win/Linux. I have to deal with it maybe every other month.
- for me battery life has been amazing. Sometimes I forget I actually have to charge it at all. I go for weeks between charges.
- headset does turn off completely after 15m of audio signal absence with the "Power off" voice announcement. I don't think it's controllable without the software or at all. But I've also seen complaints that automatic power-off doesn't work for some users.
- when headset is active, there is a bit of audible static. After 15s of no audio, headset switches into what I assume is energy-saving mode with a bit of an audible click. Static then disappears or becomes largely not noticeable. When audio signal resumes, the headset picks it up with a bit of a click again, but almost instantaneously.
I want to replace my old, wired Hyper X (approx. 10 years old) with the V2 Pro, but I can't cope with the extremely different sound "off the shelf". While the Hyper X (via onboard sound) sounds very good to me in all areas (probably also due to habit), the Razer sounds worse than the cheapest Aliexpress fakes.
With the EQ I get closer again with music, but with games (CS2, BFv, etc) it's still worlds apart. I also have problems with directional audio, I can't get to grips with the origin of sounds. In direct comparison with the Hyper X, the Razer feels like it has x levels more, which are not logical at all.
Does anyone have any recommendations/tips for the settings, especially for music, but also important for games?
Depends on what you want, I can tell you for CS2 Competetive the CS profile is perfect, you don't want an awesome sound but the right one to improve the location in the game, btw. to emphasise the important aspects of the game. The game mode profiles all sound terrible. But they filter the unimportant sounds and output them.
I used to have the Hyper X and also the JBL Quantum and have to say the Razer is better and sounds better to me personally.
However, I can agree that I have problems with the headset on Tarkov with binoral audio, for example.
All in all, the thing has so many settings to customise it to your wishes that it sounds like an AliExpress thing is nonsense. You might think that with the game modes, but as described above, they should sound like shit.

As far as I know, you can be connected at the same time, but as soon as you play something from the second connected source, it is switched over and the other source can no longer be heard. So, for example, if you are connected to the PC with the dongle and to the mobile phone via Bluetooth and you are gaming, as soon as you play something on the mobile phone, the source is switched to Bluetooth and you no longer hear the sound from the dongle.
