I have a Nikon D5600 and a Tamron lens 18-400mm F/3.5-6.3. Now I would like to increase the focal length a little without having to buy a new lens. Question: Is the Tamron TCX14N teleconverter suitable for this combination? Can anyone help me? Thank you very much. Walo 51

Hi, I tried this converter on a Tamron 150-600 lens and I was very disappointed with the loss of quality. I don't know the Tamron 18-400, but I suppose there will also be a loss of quality. Teleconverters always have this weakness.

I have the "old" Z7 (not Z7 II and a Tamron AF 100-400mm F/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD. I am thinking of buying this teleconverter. A Nikon Z 100-400 with TC 1.4 or 2.0 costs more than 3 times as much as my setup. I only do hobby photography and would like to have more "reach" for birds and animals without buying another lens. Is this a good idea or would I have to switch to a Z7II or Z8 as the autofocus of the Z8 is limited?

1. TC at zoom is usually not good. You lose too much light and sharpness. 2. the 200-600 is coming soon. 3. if you have the money for a Z8, then buy Z lenses at the same time, in general, better lenses with a mediocre body than a good body with mediocre lenses.
