B+W one of the best protective filters
It really is one of the best protective filters. Visually perfect and easy to clean.
Low thickness i.e. no vignetting even with WW lenses (check suitability on website B+W).

Lens cover
I have mounted such a protective glass on all my lenses. This way I can do without a lens cap and my camera is always ready for use. Even in splashy or dirty environments, the front lens always remains undamaged and clean. Every few years I only have to replace the protective glass and the lens is still fine.
