I've been looking for an e-book reader with this size and weight, so light, easy to bring anywhere. I can easily transfer files to it. And since it's Android, I can install anything from the Playstore, can even install and run TikTok. I can read my own books, or install Kindle, Tolino, etc and read my purchased books. It's just perfect.
The only thing missings are dark mode and waterproof. Hopefully they will add the dark mode feature in the future. As for the waterproof, I just avoid reading near water.

It looks like a phone so you get all the pros and cons with associating it to a phone. You get good size, lightweight, full android (which is so amazing). The refresh rate is definitely the highlight but keep in mind that it will be most useful in niche situation, f.e using google maps in an emergency, watching a youtube tutorial, scrolling through the web/articles to find information. Most of the time I use it to read, Duolingo and Google Calendar, occasionally whatsapp, Twint and Chess.
The battery life sucks imo, its slow to charge, and discharges way to quick when you have wifi or bluetooth activated. I had a Pixel 7a before and that had better battery life. If you turn on airplane mode though, the battery life is execellent and you can probably manager 4-5 days without charging. Also using this device for phone calls (whatsapp) has been strange, the display doesn't recognize that youre taking a phone call so it keeps refreshing because my face touches the screen. Also sometime the mic drops out and by default Wifi gets disconnected once the screen goes to sleep, meaning that my phone call would abruptly end.
If it had a sim card, better battery life and better "phone call" experience, I would give it a 5 star.
This product is for people that want an Android e-reader and they have an already normal smartphone. I tried to daily this device as my main phone and use a dumb phone to receive phone calls and sms and provide hotspot but the battery life drains way to quick with wifi on, so I can't recommend using it that way. I am using my phone way less and I am much more disconnected from youtube, social media and brain rot content.

This is my second e-reader from this manufacturer. The first was an Onyx Poke 3, which I used a lot and which I still use. I'm very happy with the Palma, and I use it every day. In the end, the high price quickly paid for itself. This e-reader runs on Android, but it doesn't replace a smartphone or tablet, which fortunately I knew before I bought it. I recommend it for avid readers and demanding e-reader users. This manufacturer's models require a certain amount of computer literacy, and may take a few hours to master all the features and subtleties. You don't need to be a pro either, but you do need to be aware that these machines do have a certain complexity. All in all, I have no hesitation in giving the Palma the 5 stars it deserves in my eyes.
