Astro Bot does everything right. The platformer bowls me over with its ingenious level design, detailed visual presentation and flawless controls. This game lets me feel every step, jump and attack with haptic and visual feedback as well as sound effects. There’s no other game that feels as incredibly satisfying to control.
The title is bursting with original ideas in terms of level design and creative power-ups that deserve their own games. This perfect platformer package is made complete by a variety of guest appearances by well-known gaming legends and levels that are based on iconic PlayStation titles. Astro Bot is a love letter to PlayStation’s history and a must-play if you have a PS5.

The whole game is great. Highly recommended.
The only thing that annoys me is when you find a galaxy next to it, you are taken out of the current level. And you have to go back in if you haven't finished it yet.

Astro Bot is the PS5's fun game for all ages, where you can feel that the developers have taken their ideas to the limit. It's a game that showcases the Dualsense controller and is ideal for the 30th anniversary of Playstation, where you'll find a number of the firm's key figures.

Honestly, probably the PS5 game of 2024.
It's fun, creative and looks really cute.
Mario will have to dress warmly ;-)

Astro Bot has no violence, is thoroughly cheerful (with a handful of "scary" levels, ghosts à la Luigi's Mansion and robot "skeletons", which are absolutely okay for children) and controls incredibly well. Astro has no resistance and "dies" after every hit, but this has no negative effects. The checkpoints can be found after practically every obstacle, so you never have to repeat large parts of a level.
There are hardly any explanations about the controls because they are largely unnecessary. If you come across an obstacle or collect an upgrade that you can't directly overcome or use, a small window appears showing you which button you need to press to do what is shown. Totally unmistakable.
My rule of thumb is 1CHF per hour of gameplay, which is definitely not achieved at a price of 65 for around 20 hours, but these 20 hours are worth it. Quality over quantity. Bombastic graphics without frame drops with fantastic controls in an entertaining gameplay loop.
I don't regret buying it at all.
What's more, it's finally a game that's really ready for the market. No bugs, no early access, no flimsy promises to fix known problems in the future. Simply solid. Just like in the old days, when games were released on cartridges without internet access.
