Akihabara, or simply "Akiba," is a district in Tokyo that has witnessed significant historical events, from Japan's post-war reconstruction to the economic bubble crisis of the 1980s. Always at the forefront of progress, it offers something for even the most eclectic interests, leading to a new appetite for exploration.

Enter the "Synthisters" – vampires that prey on the life energy of unsuspecting figure collectors, maid café enthusiasts, and cosplayers in the city. Those who fall victim to the Synthisters take on the traits of their attackers and withdraw from society, living in seclusion due to their newfound sensitivity to sunlight.

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed tells the story of such an unfortunate individual: a young man named Nanashi, who was lured into a trap by the promise of rare character merchandise and has transformed into one of the wandering undead. Fortunately, he was saved from the worst by the bloody kiss of a mysterious Synthister hunter named Shizuku. Together with his companions in an organization unofficially called the "Akiba Freedom Fighters," Nanashi and Shizuku must uncover the truth behind the Synthister plague and save Akiba from being overrun by violent, antisocial energy vampires.

And of course, the best way to fight vampires is to strip them down to their underwear so they melt in the midday sun.
