Primarily used with water. When used in oil circuits, deviations in readings occur due to the viscosity of the liquid. The paddle flow switch monitors the liquid flow using a paddle. A spring-loaded paddle made of stainless steel in the flow chamber is driven by the medium in the direction of flow. When a preset flow rate is reached, the magnet connected to the paddle approaches a magnet located outside the flow chamber, which is coupled with a microswitch. This creates a threshold when the actual flow rate is above or below a preset value. Relatively low pressure loss, insensitive to contamination, powerful microswitch, all function-critical parts made of stainless steel, locally adjustable switch for switching operations at decreasing flow. Typically used as an indicator that something is no longer functioning, e.g., in cooling circuits, heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems, laser circuits, heat exchange (water coolers).
