The Samyang 8 mm F3.5 AS MC Fisheye CSII DH lens differs from its predecessor only by the removable lens hood.
The 8 mm prime lens is specifically designed for APS-C and MFT cameras. However, without the lens hood, this lens can also be used with full-frame cameras. The lens is a guarantee for stunning panoramas and is suitable for creating virtual 3D tours.
The lens construction consists of 10 elements in 7 groups. An aspherical hybrid lens combined with the latest anti-reflective multi-coating (MC) technology ensures that lens flares are minimized and ghosting effects are eliminated.
A special feature of ultra-wide-angle lenses of this type is not only the short minimum focusing distance. Fisheye lenses are characterized by their enormous depth of field. This results in everything being sharply in focus even behind the actual focal point.
Further examples of using an extremely short focal length include action photography. In skateboard photos, the fisheye effect is indispensable. Action shots taken from close proximity to the scene allow the viewer to immerse themselves in the situation.
