Rediscover the classic portrait focal length. In the past, 75 mm was considered the ideal portrait focal length, not the commonly used 85 mm today. The advantage: photographers have more flexibility in composition, as the field of view of 32.9° on full-frame and 21.9° on APS-C allows for more space. Additionally, the photographer can get closer to the model during the shoot, which is particularly beneficial for creating an atmosphere of intimacy between the photographer and the model, fostering a sense of calm. In short: the 75 mm focal length produces unique images that stand out significantly from typical portraits.
"Tiny but Absolute" - small and absolutely top-notch! Samyang expands its "Tiny" series of compact, lightweight lenses for Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras with the exotic portrait focal length of 75 mm, adding the AF 75 mm F1.8 FE. Now, focal lengths of 18 mm, 24 mm, 35 mm, 45 mm, and 75 mm are available. The lens is particularly compact, measuring only 69 mm in length and 65 mm in maximum diameter, and weighs just 230 grams. The filter thread has a diameter of 58 mm, and the lens hood is detachable. For the highest imaging quality, the lens features 10 elements in 9 groups, including 2 high-refractive glass lenses (HR) and 3 lenses made of extra-low dispersion glass (ED). All glass elements are multi-coated with Samyang's proprietary Ultra Multi Coating (UMC). This coating prevents reflections and chromatic aberrations while ensuring accurate color reproduction. The 9 diaphragm blades create beautiful round circles in the bokeh for highlights. Combined with the extremely high glass quality of the lenses, this results in a fantastic lens that delivers images that are crystal clear from the center to the extreme corners and absolutely sharp, even at wide open apertures.
New Custom Switch. A new feature of this lens is the Custom Switch, which is typically used for AF.
