Acti 9 iCT contactors from Schneider Electric enable power switching in single-phase 3-phase loads. The TeSys GC series contactors are safe, easy to use, and simple to install. These devices, with their compact dimensions, are suitable for a wide variety of applications.

Features and Benefits:

  • Integrated auxiliary contacts for additional switching options
  • Screw terminals: IP20 finger-safe terminals with North American and international terminal markings
  • Panel mounting with screws or DIN rail mounting possible
  • Pulse relay function
  • Day/Night function
  • Insulation Class 2: continuous safety for operators and third parties

What is the difference between AC-7a and AC-7b when selecting an iCT contactor? These utilization categories determine which load the contactors can switch: AC-7a is intended for lightly inductive loads for household appliances such as mixers and blenders, while AC-7b is designed for motor loads for household appliances such as fans and central vacuum cleaners.

Do spacers need to be installed between the iCT series contactors? When multiple contactors are mounted on a DIN rail, spacers should be used after every second contactor. The reason for this is that when multiple contactors are placed side by side, there can be significant heat generation, causing the devices to exceed their operating temperature. The coils themselves are designed to operate 100% of the time, so heat must be dissipated, making the use of spacers necessary.
