The RB-PRO was developed in collaboration with the well-known rockabilly double bass player Didi Beck. Didi is recognized in the scene and has published textbooks and DVDs for aspiring rockabilly double bass players. He helped to create an optimal system for rockabilly double bass players, which is unmatched in sound, adjustability, and quality. This system can also be used for other styles of music, including jazz, country, and classical. Simply turn away the fingerboard channel if needed.

The RB-PRO is designed for use with two pickups: a pickup for the bridge and a special pickup that is mounted or glued to the fingerboard from behind. The fingerboard pickup is intended to reproduce the typical slap sound, which is essential for rockabilly music.

The Shadow SH RB-PRO is a stereo pickup and preamp combination for upright bass. It was developed in collaboration with Didi Beck and is specifically designed with rockabilly in mind, but it can be used for any musical style. The system includes two pickups: one for slap (mounted underneath the fingerboard) and one for the bridge.

The complete pickup/preamp combo features a separate bridge pickup and slap pickup. The bridge channel includes gain, bass, mid, presence, volume, subsonic filter, and pre-shape controls. The slap channel features gain, lo-cut, treble, and volume controls, with a switchable 4 kHz / 8 kHz bass frequency cut-off. Additional features include a phase switch, automatic chromatic tuner, and a 9V DC input. It connects to a mono or two-channel amp.
