Thanks to its excellently corrected field curvature, the 2.8/16-28mm lens delivers sharp images all the way to the corners, which is crucial for many applications in the wide-angle range. Five FLD lenses and four aspherical elements ensure optimal image quality with minimal distortion. An internal zoom mechanism keeps the length of the lens consistent across the entire focal length range, making it well-balanced in hand at all times. The minimal shift in the center of gravity during zooming is also an advantage for mounting on a gimbal.
