... In the centre of the image, the measured values for resolution and contrast are high at 10 mm and still very good to good at 20 mm (open/ stopped down). Conversely, at 10 mm we measure a relevant but absolutely acceptable edge drop, which drops significantly at 20 mm. Once again: stopping down hardly changes the measured values, f/8 provides the biggest plus in contrast at the edge of the image...
Even before testing the new power zoom lens, it was clear that there is no direct competitor. Although you can alternatively access, for example, the 11-18mm from Sony's range or also the Tamron 11-20mm F2.8 Di III-A RXD(see right), the new lens is unique in terms of the power zoom rocker...
