The Sony FE 2.8/24-50 mm G delivers very good optical performance when slightly stopped down.

The new Sony standard zoom secured top marks in the test laboratory. The high image resolution, the lens quality and the fast and precise autofocus were particularly impressive. The only small flaw is that you unfortunately have to do without an image stabiliser. Although the 2x zoom range up to 50 millimetres is basically sufficient, the light telephoto focal length up to 70 millimetres is often missed. The Sony lens is more suitable for street photography. Its image quality is beyond criticism.
