The Tascam FR-AV2 is a compact and fully featured audio recorder for sound recording for filmmakers, combining the latest 32-bit float technology with timecode generation and synchronisation. Thanks to the FR-AV2's advanced 32-bit float recording at up to 192 kHz, you'll never again have to discard a recording due to distortion or low level. When recording with a lower word width, i.e. 24-bit and 16-bit, loud signal sources can cause digital clipping that cannot be corrected later.

Connect microphones and sources with a professional line level directly to the two Ultra HDDA preamps of the FR-AV2. With an extremely low equivalent input noise of only -127 dBu, you can record audio signals with maximum clarity and virtually noise-free. You also have the option of using wireless microphones, lavalier microphones and any other audio sources you may have in your arsenal via the stereo mini jack input.

With the FR-AV2, you can reduce the amount of camera equipment you need and take less material with you to shoots. The recorder sends and receives timecode via its mini-jack connections for DSLR cameras and also supports Jam Sync for external timecode devices. With the optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter, timecode can also be synchronised wirelessly with supported UltraSync Blue devices from Atomos.
