In the event of a disaster, the EWF system transmits barrier-free warning messages in seconds to EWF-enabled DAB+ radios, which switch from either the current programme or standby mode to alarm mode and warn the listener of possible dangers. UPnP, Bluetooth and USB allow music to be played from external devices. The large-format 2.4″ (6.1 cm) TFT colour display visualises the clear menu of the Dira S 21i + and provides useful background information such as station or title information and current weather data.
