Das 2/40 liefert am Nikon-KB-Sensor bei Blende 4 ein sehr gutes Ergebnis in der Bildmitte. Der Randabfall ist akzeptabel. Bei Blende 5,6 fallen alle Werte noch leicht besser aus. Doch bei Blende 2 sinkt die Bildmitte deutlich unter unsere Erwartungen, der Randabfall ist kräftig die Vignettierung stark. Die 530-Euro-Non-AF-Optik erhält wegen den guten Leistungen ab Blende 4 eine Empfehlung.
