The extension tubes enhance the minimum focusing distance and thus the magnification ratio of the lenses. The rings are mounted between the camera body and the lens and can be used individually or in combination. Depending on the subject situation, the two rings of different lengths can be quickly and easily combined.
The elaborate mechanical and electronic design of the extension tubes allows for the transmission of all automatic functions. The only limitation lies in the autofocus function, which is transmitted but only partially usable, as the light intensity decreases and the depth of field is very small in macro shots.
With a 50 mm lens and the complete set of extension tubes, you can achieve a magnification ratio greater than 1:1 (calculated for the 35mm format)! For ideal results, we also recommend using a tripod or a focusing rail and ensuring plenty of light. Additionally, a small telephoto focal length is advantageous, as it increases the distance between the front edge of the lens and the subject.
