Are the USB-A ports 3.2 or 3.1? Can the second Thunderbolt port be used to connect an external SSD, for example?

According to the manufacturer's data, the USB-A ports are type 3.1.
Yes, you can connect an external drive to the 2nd USB-C port but, in my opinion, it's better to connect it directly to the computer.
