The Apple Studio Display has 600 nits, the ASUS 400-500.

Advantages Apple Studio: higher brightness, excellent speakers for a monitor, integrated camera, total integration in macOS (TrueTone, updates etc.).
Advantages Asus: height adjustable and swivelling, has HDR10 (Display HDR500) support, has more connections.

I have both, side by side on a Mac mini, works very well. The price/performance ratio of the ASUS is excellent.
