Can a timer be started / stopped on the clock, or do I need the app (mobile phone) for this?

The app is basically needed to assign the timer function to one of the three buttons on the clock. By default, these are assigned other functions.
However, once the timer function has been stored, it can be started (in 1 minute steps -> 1-60 min) and stopped without a mobile phone.
