Can I connect a laptop with 1x Hdmi connection to a monitor via an adapter to Displayport. And from this monitor via DaisyChain to another monitor? So that I then have 2 different images on both monitors? images on both monitors? Otherwise, please suggest solutions so that I can control 2 screens from 1× Hdmi.

This is how it works for me:
MS surface laptop - USB C - mon1 - DP - Mon2
And...
Desktop - DP - mon1 - DP - Mon2

When switching, I have to switch from DP or usbc as output to the 2nd monitor in the settings.

I don't think it works with HDMI. Maybe add a dock or hub...

You can connect a laptop with an HDMI connection to a DisplayPort connection using an adapter. A DisplayPort adapter can transmit HDMI signals by converting the signals accordingly.

However, to connect two monitors via daisy chain, you need a monitor that supports daisy chain and has a DisplayPort output. The Samsung ViewFinity S6 S60UD supports daisy chain, but only via USB-C, not DisplayPort. Therefore, you cannot use Daisy Chain directly via DisplayPort to see two different images on both monitors.

One possible solution would be to use a USB-C hub that offers multiple DisplayPorts or HDMI ports to extend the daisy chain function. Alternatively, you could use a splitter or an external graphics adapter to drive two separate screens.
