Can it scan directly to the cloud (OneDrive)? Put the documents in the ADF, press the button and the documents are automatically saved in OneDrive without having to go through a PC or smartphone app.

Yes, this is easily possible after setting up Brother Web Services via a computer (Win & Mac). Once set up, the PC is no longer required. You can find the corresponding instructions for the common cloud providers at:
